Fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro to a 2011 Honda Pilot
Question:
Hello there! Would the Thule Hitching Post Pro be completely usable on a 2011 Honda Pilot? Ive heard sometimes the first bike position is too close on some vehicles. Thanks!

You can take a quick measurements to see if you can properly fit the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR to your 2011 Honda Pilot.
First, you'll want to measure from your Pilot's hitch pin hole to the furthest point of your bumper. It's helpful to use a straight edge to do this to get an accurate measurement.
This is your hitch clearance, and anything you want to use in your hitch will have to have a measurement listed for its "distance from hitch pin hole to nearest part" of greater than the distance you got to be a proper fit. This measurement is usually listed on each product's page under the "Specs" heading.
On the Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, the nearest point is 13-1/2" inches away from the hitch pin hole, giving you a wide berth. That being said, the bike nearest to the vehicle's handlebars may be able to reach the rear of your vehicle.
You can confirm a fit by measuring the heaviest bike you plan on carrying's handlebars. This heavier bike will always be loaded closest to the vehicle. You'll measure from the center of the handle bars out to the edge of one grip. Compare this to the total of the nearest point (13-1/2" inches) minus the hatch clearance that you took earlier. This will give you the total distance remaining. If your handlebars are shorter than this distance, you'll be able to load without worries.
