Recommended Tonneau Cover with Hanging Box and Headache Rack for 2017 Ford F-150 XLT 5.5 Foot Bed

Question:

Thank you for your expertise. If I rethink this a little the real problem is the need for a headache rack. How about a low profile tool box and a hard tonneau cove? Would that be an easier set up with a headache rack? If so please recommend which ones would work. Thank you

For a headache rack, I recommend the Aries Switchback Headache Rack # AA68VB for a great application that mounts into the stake pockets of your truck that will allow many tonneau covers to function correctly. This installation does require an extra hole be drilled into the bed rail.

A cover that will allow the stake pocket access for a headache rack, I recommend the BAKFlip FiberMax Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum and Fiberglass # BAK126329. This cover will also allow you to use the BAKBox 2 Collapsible Truck Bed Toolbox for BAK Roll-X and BAKFlip Tonneau Covers # BAK92321. This will give you the whole floor bed and the hanging box for storage you mentioned.

The low profile tool boxes mount in the same location as a headache rack. The headache rack will limit you to a tonneau cover that has rails on the inside of your bed rails to allow both to work together. If you don't want the headache rack, there are more toolbox and tonneau options.
