How Does Brake Controller Install on 2017 Coachman Prism On Sprinter Chassis

Question:

We have a 2017 Coachman Prism with a Mercedes Sprinter 3.0 V6 Diesel chassis. We pull a small horse trailer and want to buy the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 but dont know what wiring set to go with it. Some are for a Sprinter, but not the class C Rv model. Our Prism has the trailer hitch and plug pre-installed.

For your 2017 Coachman Prism on a Mercedes Sprinter that has a factory 7-way the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 can pretty easily install. There is a green connector under the driver seat of your RV that is for the install of a brake controller.

We don't sell a connector that plugs right into it, but you can still use it to wire up a brake controller like the P3 part # 90195. You'll need to cut the connector off and then wire the vehicle wiring to the controller's wiring.

On the controller the blue wire is the brake output circuit which runs to the 7-way of the vehicle, the red wire is the stoplight circuit which needs a circuit that only sees voltage when brakes are applied, black goes to a 12 volt power source, and then white ground.
