Transmission Line Identification to Install Cooler # D12902 on a 2010 Dodge Caravan

Question:

where exactly do I hook the cooling lines to? there are two lines at the top side of the condenser, not the radiator. If the condenser is where I hook up to, what specific line do I use, top or lower line? I have a 2010 dodge caravan with a 4 liter motor.

You will not want to use the lines on the condenser, you will want to find the metal lines that are threaded into the radiator that come from the transmission. Check on the sides of the radiator, usually there will be metal lines that are run to the radiator and attach with hex bolts. Those are the lines you will need.

In order to determine which line is bringing fluid to the cooler and which line is return line from the cooler to the transmission you will want to follow these steps:

Start engine while engine is cold
Put the transmission in drive for no more than 10 seconds
Stop engine
Feel the both of the lines, and whichever one is cooler is the return line that is taking the fluid line back to the transmission.

This is the line you will want to remove from the radiator and run to either input of the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler, part # D12902, and then the other side will be run back to the transmission.

I attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers as well as an installation video for you to check out also.
