Industry Standard 5th Wheel Hitch Compatibility with 2017 Nissan Titan XD Factory Rail Kit

Question:

I have a Pro Series hitch that I removed from a Toyota Tundra and I would like to use the same hitch in my 2017 Nissan Titan XD. The Titan has the pulling package and has the bed rail system and I was wondering if I could attach the bed rails that came with the hitch to the bed rails to the truck and is there a Kit for this. If not what other alternatives do I have to be able to use this hitch in the Titan XD? Thanks.

It sounds like your Pro Series 5th wheel hitch is an industry-standard-rail (ISR) type like # PS30855 that installs in above-bed base rails like those in universal 5th wheel rail install kit # RP30035.

The special version hitches made for your Nissan factory-installed rail kit, such as the Curt A16 # C16520-16026 and the A20 # C16540-16026, do not use above-bed base rails since they drop directly into the three factory rail kit receptacles in the bed.

At one time Nissan did develop and very briefly market an adapter that fits their rail system that would accept an ISR-type hitch like your Pro Series. My technical contact at Curt advised that this was pulled from the market due to failures in field testing. I also checked with Pro Series and they have no plans to develop the adapter that would be required to use your old hitch in your new truck.

One of the Nissan-specific Curt hitches shown on the linked page will be your best bet. Since you paid for the ability to have a nice clear bed when you need it for cargo (by having the rail kit installed) you might as well use one the mating hitches from Curt.
