Why is 15 Inches Ground Clearance Needed When Using Swagman Original Bike on an RV or Trailer  

Question:

for bike rack #64400 it says that 15 is needed for hitch clearance...i only have 13..will that work?

When going up steep hills or in dips, a trailer or RV rear end will pitch down lower than a regular passenger vehicle so the extra ground clearance is needed. You might get away with 13 inches in some scenarios but the recommended 15 inches is the goal you need to reach. If damage was to occur, the warranty would not cover it since the rack was not at the manufacturer specified height.

But, there is something you can do to get the last few inches you need. You can use Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210, and insert the Swagman Original, # S64400, in the top receiver which should give you another 4-3/4 inches.
