Troubleshooting Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator with Hydraulic Pump Constantly Running

Hydraulic electric brake pump on trailer does not shut off

With your Electric Over Hydraulic actuator (EOH) not shutting off, it appears you have constant 12V power going to your actuator from your brake controller output (normally blue) wire. I recommend checking your wire using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm that. If that is the case, I recommend unplugging your trailer and checking the connections on your trailer side and your vehicle side of the connection for corrosion or debris. Thoroughly clean your connections on both sides and test again. There is a good chance this connection point is the issue. The brake controller output pin is in the 5 o'clock position and the 12V power is in the 1 o'clock position. Putting a little dielectric grease # 11755 on these connection points often helps.
