Compatible Rooftop Cargo Baskets for Factory Crossbars on 2015 Toyota Highlander

I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander with factory installed crossbars that are 27” on center. I want to get a roof basket that I can carry a 38 x 48 Roof Bag. It looks like the Thule Canyon XT would work but I was wondering if there are other options like the Rhino rack basket

We have roof-mount cargo baskets that will fit on your Highlander's factory crossbars. Some of these, such as the Rhino-Rack # RMCB02, require that the bars' center-to-center spread be a specific dimension. This particular basket needs center-to-center spacing of 25-1/2 to 43-inches.

On the other hand, the Thule Canyon XT cargo basket # TH859XT will fit bar spreads anywhere from 20-inches out to 37-inches so it is a better fit for your Highlander.

You may want to consider an accessory step like the lightweight aluminum Telesteps # TE97FR, which comes fully-assembled and which folds up for storage. I own one of these and it makes for much easier access to your vehicle roof for loading/unloading. It's also handy around the house and garage.

Keep in mind that the total load on the roof - basket, bag and contents - must remain within the rated capacity for the Highlander's roof.
