Reese Signature 30085 Slider Compatibility with Ford Factory Rail Kit Prep Package

Question:

I found a used Reese mod 30085 sliding hitch to fit my Ford and I was researching to see if I could get parts if needed. I cant find manuals or instructions or very many parts specific to that hitch. It appears to be superceded by 30144. Would that be the same or is something different between the two? Thanx in advance

The Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider, Wiring Harness - Single Jaw - 18,000 lbs # RP30144 is a nice slider with the ability to work with Ford's factory rail (puck system). This mitigates the need for an adapter. The 30085 you referenced was the previous version of this hitch. It was under the Signature series name instead of the Elite and was replaced with the Elite when Ford came out with their Factory Rail Kit that was just like the Reese Underbed Rail system but it required slightly longer T-pins. So they lengthened those pins, gave it a new name and part number, but nothing else changed according to my contact at Reese.

The 30085 model will fit but won't be as snug a fit as the Elite Slider # RP30144.
