Can a Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar be Used with Blue Ox Base Plate Adapter?

Question:

From our two RV purchases weve acquired two Roadmaster Sterling tow bars. We also have a 2001 Honda Insight manual wed like to tow, and I see. Would your adapter #BX88151 make this compatible? Given the car is under 2000lbs, do you think a braking solution for this car is necessary or just a nicety? Thanks!

You would be able to use the Blue Ox Adapter Brackets # BX88151 along with your Roadmaster Sterling tow bar.

As for supplemental braking, it is not a nicety, it is required by law in most states and is something I would strongly recommend even if it wasn't. Towing a car is something you want to ensure you have done everything you can for your safety and the safety of others on the road and a braking system is a major part of that. I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251, which you'll only have to install once and then never mess with again in terms of activating or deactivating. It is a proportional system which activates your Insight's brakes along with the brakes of your RV.
