You have a couple of options to add above the bed 5th wheel rails to your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 long bed: universal or custom.

For a universal kit, # RP30035, you will spend less money but the installation will require drilling into the truck frame and it will take longer to install compared to a custom kit.

The one above bed rail custom kit, # HT31404-686, still requires some drilling for installation so given the options I recommend going with the universal kit # RP30035.
