Troubleshooting Draw-Tite Activator III Brake Controller that Shows Decimal All the Time
Question:
The brake switch is only showing a dot and no numbers rather a trailer is hooked up or not. What could that mean?

The display on your Draw-Tite Activator III Trailer Brake Controller will show a decimal without any numbers when the red wire on the controller is connected to the wrong side of the stoplight switch. When this is the case, the decimal will remain on the screen whether the trailer is connected or not, as you described.
I recommend simply checking the wiring on the controller to make sure everything is connected properly and that there are no damaged sections. Make sure the red wire is connected to the cold side of the stoplight switch in your vehicle, which is the wire that will ONLY receiver power when the brake pedal is depressed.
