Replacement Motor and Controller Kit for Kwikee Model 32 Electric RV Step on 1999 Winnebago

Question:

My Kwikee steps on my coach will no longer auto retract. The step light comes on when the door is opened but the steps do not move. I have removed the motor/gear assembly and it works in both directions when 12 VDC is applied. I believe it is the controller and it is no longer available. I believe I have to replace all the electrical components with the following: Lippert Components Kwikee Step Motor Conversion/Upgrade Kit Item # LC379145 I just need to make sure this is the right replacement parts to get my steps working again. I have included some pix of the step motor and controller with ID labels. Thanks.

Thank you for the details about your powered RV step and the troubleshooting you've already done. That is really helpful since you've eliminated the motor/gear assembly as the cause for the issue by verifying it works when directly powered with +12VDC.

I checked with my technical contact at Lippert who confirmed that the Kwikee Step Motor Conversion/Upgrade Kit # LC379145 that you referenced is indeed your best bet since it includes a new motor/gear unit along with the controller circuitry. The controller only is available, part # LC379606, but since this is almost the same cost as the complete kit you are better off getting the complete kit # LC379145.
