Recommended Suspension Enhancement System for 2013 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboose 4x4

Question:

I have A 2013 f150 with a 3.5 eco boost and 3:31 rear 4x4 super cab. I just purchased a 28.5 5th Wheel RV. Dry weight it 7,400lbs. The RV dealer said it would be fine. Ford dealer was confused looking up tow ratings. Pulling it to Florida and back from Upstate NY. Chevy fans say I will blow it up. I have 74,000 mile and it’s been a super truck so far. Plenty of power pulling light loads. Past towing travel trailers through Pa. With past trucks has been tough. What’s your option ?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Your 2013 Ford F-150 Ecoboost 3.5L 4x4 has a rated 5th wheel towing capacity of 9,600 lbs with your 3.31 axle ratio. You cannot tow more than 5,000 lbs when towing with bumper only. You should have no problem on PA roads with your 28.5 foot 5th wheel as long as your loaded weight is under the 9,600 lb capacity.

I recommend adding the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-117-47 to help prolong the life of your factory suspension when towing. These springs are a confirmed fit for your truck and will help level your ride and minimize sway. They are a no drill installation.
