Cargo Carrier Options for 2016 Ford Transit Connect Wagon

I have the LWB ford transit WAGON, not the van. It has 2 sliding doors. Will, and how, would a rightline gear soft carrier be attached on a ‘naked’ roof ?

The sliding side doors on your 2016 Ford Transit Connect wagon are not ideal for use with a strap-mounted rooftop cargo bag like the Rightline Gear Sport 3 XL Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S30. The straps run through the interior of the vehicle. Standard vehicle doors work fine but sliding doors will not be compatible with the straps.

If you install a rear-mounted hitch like # C13167 you could use a hitch-mounted cargo carrier that will be able to handle far more weight than the vehicle's roof can. Hitch carrier # C18151 will let you load much more cargo weight since it is rated for up to 500-lbs. You will also have a much easier time loading and unloading the cargo when it is closer to ground level.

If you like you can use a weather-resistant cargo bag in the carrier to protect your belongings. Our waterproof bag # 988501 will work great with the carrier.
