Transmission Cooler with Fan Recommendation for 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

I have a 2004 toyota tacoma 4x4 crewcab with 3.4l v6. I just installed a techonsha p3 that I purchased from you. I want to install a derale trans. Cooler with fan. Im towing a camper that weighs 2729 lbs. Can you please suggest which one would be the best for my truck. Im also curious about what you think as far as cutting it inline before or after the factory trans. cooler in the radiator, there seams to be mixed opinions on this topic. Thanks for all your help.

Supplemental coolers should be installed after the factory cooler. That way if the factory cooler is tied into the radiator it wouldn't reheat the fluid back up if the supplemental cooler was before it.

I recommend the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - Class V # D15950 for your application. This is a highly efficient, plate-fin cooler with minimal pressure drop. It offers superior airflow with 500-CFM tornado fan. It comes with aluminum brackets for mounting.
