How To Gain Cab Clearance With The B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

Question:

We just purchased a newer pickup 2012 Ram shortbox with a turn=over ball. We have a B and W companion fifth wheel setup. The newer pickups ball is 3 inches closer to the cab and our older pickups setting. We would like to find an adapter or know what to do short of drilling another hole to off-set ball to make clearances. Thank you.

I have exactly what you will need in order to move the hitch ball back, closer toward the tailgate of your 2012 Ram 1500. We currently offer a 4" offset adapter that is specifically designed to work with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch.

I recommend using the 4" Offset Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNXA4685 as long as the distance from the center of locking pin hole to bottom of square base is 1-1/4". If the the distance from the center of locking pin hole to bottom of square base is 2", then you will want to use part # BWGNXA4085.

If you are referring to the 5th wheel hitch being too close to the cab while installed, then you will need to use a Sidewinder king pin box. In order to recommend the correct Sidewinder, I would need to know the make and model of your current pin box or the dimension of the bolt holes. Once provided I can offer the correct replacement if available. I have attached a help article that will help you measure the bolt holes for you.
