I have a factory 7 way on my 04 ram 1/2 ton and only the 1 o clock terminal shows hot on my tester when going through the different lights.

On an RV-style 7-way vehicle socket like # 37185 the contact at the 1-o-clock position as you view the socket carries the trailer 12V auxiliary power for the trailer. This contact will typically be active at all times or at least when the key is on. All other contacts in the socket will be inactive unless their specific lighting function has been activated.
