Replacement Tire and Wheel for Tires Rubbing Against Trailer

Question:

I currently have 18.5 x 8.5 215/60-8 tires on my trailer and one side has a very slight rub... is there a slightly smaller tire size that i can get? - 5 lug wheels, 8 inch rim with 0 offset I checked the axle alignment and there isnt much room on either side maybe 1/8inch if I shim the axle over a bit. Would a 205 tire be narrow enough or should I go to a narrower rim width? Trailer is a 3 skid motorcycle trailer used for hauling dirt bikes. Thanks

I recommend going to a more narrow rim and tire to solve your issue with sidewall rubbing. Depending on the load range you need, there are a couple of options. I suggest taking a look at the Kenda # AM3H220, which is a 165/65-8 tire with a maximum load of 800 lbs at 70 psi and has a rim that is 8" diameter x 5-3/8" wide.

You can also take a look at the Kenda # AM30156, which is a 5.70-8 tire with a maximum load of 1,075 lbs at 100 psi with a rim that is 8" diameter x 3-3/4" wide. Both of these rims have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2. I've included links to review videos of each for you to take a look at.
