just wondering how the tent attachments work with the Nissan jukes, does it drain the battery to have the back door open in order to have the tent attached?

The Rightline Gear SUV Tent with Rainfly # RL110907 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2013 Nissan Juke. The SUV tent featues an alligator clamping sleeve that will securely attach around the rear of your Juke. The heavy-duty straps and nylon buckles will then secure the tent to the vehicle body by using attachment points on the Nissan Juke exterior and inside the cargo area. I have attached the complete installation details that you can review and a couple images that show exactly how the tent is attached.

Many modern vehicles like your 2013 Nissan Juke will automatically turn off the interior lights if a door is left open for a certain period of time. You can do a quick test on your vehicle by simply leaving the door open for 5 minutes or so to see if the lights shut off. Otherwise, there should be a switch inside the vehicle that will let you select what the interior lights do when the doors are open. You should be able to set it to where the light only turns on by pushing the button.
