You have a couple great options if you're looking to keep things simple with your hitch mounted rack.
If you're looking to just carry your bike, and don't think you'll need to carry any additional bikes, the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack for 1 Bike # RKY87RR is an excellent one bike platform rack. This is a wheel mount, allowing you to completely bypass needing to mount to the frame. The RockyMounts HighNoon includes bike and hitch locks, and also folds up for easy storage against the vehicle if you don't need to use it. It also tilts away while the rack is loaded, allowing access to the rear of the vehicle.
The RockyMounts HighNoon can carry bikes with 20-29 inch wheels up to 5 inches wide and a weight of up to 60 pounds. At 29 pounds, this rack is extremely light and easy to move around.
Another great rack is the Kuat Transfer, part # KU74FR. This is one of our most popular two bike racks, and has a great feature in its U-shaped crossbar, letting you step into the bike rack when loading, making the loading process a lot easier. This can carry two bikes and also is a wheel mount, bypassing the frame. It can carry two 40 pound bikes with up to 50 inch wheelbase and 18-29 inch wheels.
It weighs in at 47 pounds, making it a little heavier than the T1, but adding the extra bike for that weight.
I've included video reviews of all of these bike racks so you can compare their features and performance on our test track and make the best choice for your bikes.
