Replacement 3,500 Pound Titan Disc Brake Assembly on Trailer
Question:
I have a Titan Disc Brake Kit and BrakeRite II SD Electric-Hydraulic Actuator - Tandem, 3,500-lb Axle,on which I suffered from burned out bearing. The shop in the middle of Idaho, 700 miles from my home replaced the hub rotor with Titan part 10HREKITBBL which the shop indicated is the current Titan replacement. Now Im home and can see this replaced hub-rotor is thicker than the original. Also, they used the original caliper-brake pads and I can see it doesnt fit correctly. Probably not a good to have different hub rotors and caliper-pads on opposite sides of an axle. My dilemma = 1 are the original hub-rotor and caliper-brake pads available or do I need to replace the other three smaller hub-rotors and caliper-brake pads with the larger parts or 2 are the larger parts so superior youd recommend I replace the smaller hub-rotors and caliper-pads anyway on at least the same axle or all three. Thanks

The current replacement disc brake assembly for the Titan Kit you currently have is indeed the Titan Disc Brake Assembly # T10HREKITBB that the shop installed on your trailer. This kit includes the hub and rotor assembly, the cast iron caliper, the mounting bracket and hardware. The overall rotor diameter is 9-3/4 inches. The original/older model of this assembly is no longer available from the manufacturer.
I did speak with my contact at Titan and was able to confirm that there is a difference both with the rotor and caliper between the older assembly and the current unit. He does recommend that your older assemblies be replaced with # T10HREKITBB so that they all match, as sticking with different sized rotors on your trailer may lead to braking issues down the line.
