Correct Tires for 2012 Bighorn 3610RE Fifth Wheel

Question:

Just purchased a 2012 Bighorn model 3610RE 5th Wheel 12383 lb dry 16000 GVWR It has these M+S Roadclaw LT 235/85R16 G tires - dual axle From what I read I should have ST tires and not LT tires? Tires are probable original from 2012 -can/t tell and lots of tread. Should I look at replacing them before any long duration trips. Pulled with a 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 Classic 6.6l Diesel Turbo Thanks

Tires with "LT" in front of them are light truck tires, and as you correctly noted, you'll need trailer tires, which have an "ST" in front of them. Trailer tires are designed specifically to handle the heavy loads put on them and the amount of air pressure needed to sustain those loads.

Since you have the wrong type of tires with worn-down tread, I highly recommend you replace them before going on any trips. The tires I suggest taking a look at are the ST235/85R-16 Provider # TTWPRG235R16. These are load range G tires that have tread depth bars to make it easy to see the amount of tread wear, and they are highly respected by our customers, with well over 100 reviews giving them a rating that is very close to 5 stars.

I've added a link to a video review of these tires so you can take a look.
