How to Select Replacement Hub/Drums for Boat Trailer
Question:
My bearing blew and seized as I got home Friday night and smell of fresh metal burnt on my boat trailer. I need new drum hub. My current drum hub is an Axle Technology BD2-545 and it measured 10inch inner diameter. Are these universal or do you have one that matches that model? I would like to replace both sides if possible as the other side has a broken stud. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Your Axle Tek 10-inch hub part BD2-545 is typically found on 3500-lb axles and we offer hub/drums in this size and weight rating. You'll just want to check your bearing part numbers to confirm proper fit.
Simply pull one of the hubs and remove its bearings. The bearing part numbers will typically appear as shown in the linked photo. Then simple use the click-on filters on the hub page I linked for you to choose the inner and outer bearing part numbers from your hub. You will then see the hub/drums that use those same bearings. Then click on your wheel bolt pattern; the most common today is the 5-on-4-1/2.
Our hub/drums, such as # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K, include bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, studs and lug nuts.
I also linked a few help articles on bearings and grease formulas. Maintaining your hub grease level will help avoid heat-related bearing failures.
