Custom Axle Needed for Off-Road Custom Camping Trailer
Question:
I am looks mt for a replacement axle and hub assembly and wondered if you do custom lengths . Looking to run a 5x5 jeep wheel on an off road camping trailer that I’m building. Hub face would be 66” and perches would be spring over and at 47”. Id like a direct fit but can modify. Thank you

I do have a solution for you, but we only carry the common lengths for traditional style axles. For the measurements you gave you would need to go to your local trailer axle shop to get it custom-made.
A great solution for taking a trailer off-road is going with a Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System like part # A35RS545. The Timbren systems are much easier to install than traditional trailer axles, are compatible with any trailer width, and they increase ground clearance since an axle is not required.
The suspension uses AEON progressive-rate main springs that work independently of each other to help absorb road shock and better support your trailer's load.
I have attached an installation video so you can see how these are installed and get a better idea of how they perform.
A lot of people like to use vehicle tires on a trailer, but what they don't realize is that there is a difference in the design of trailer tires to vehicle tires that makes trailer tires better for a trailer. Vehicle tires have more of a flexible sidewall than trailer tires because they are meant to help make the ride a little more smooth. Since trailer tire sidewalls are more stiff they can better handle the weight of a trailer and will perform better than vehicle tires.
Because of this I recommend going with trailer tires instead of Jeep tires. If you let me know what axle weight capacity you are looking at I can make a recommendation for the correct Timbren system as well as a compatible trailer wheel/tire combination.
