When installing an aftermarket trailer brake controller on your 2011 Ram 2500, such as the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 that you mentioned, you will need to visit a local Dodge dealer to have the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) reconfigured.
To install the new controller, you need to disconnect the ITBM (Integrated Trailer Brake Module). However, doing this will activate a warning lamp on the instrument cluster. If you do this without having the dealer first reconfigure the TIPM, you will also have interference issues with the Prodigy P2, as you will essentially have two brake controller units trying to operate in the truck. Before disconnecting the ITBM and installing the Prodigy P2, I highly recommend visiting your local Dodge dealer to have the system flashed.
Then to install the Prodigy P2 in your Ram 2500, you will just need the Plug-In Adapter # 3021-P. One end of this adapter will plug into the controller itself and the other end will connect to the built-in harness beneath your dash. I have attached the installation details that you can also check out.
