Recommended Kayak Carrier for 2013 Subaru Outback Factory Rack

Question:

I was wondering if this rack #Y04073 would be the best one for a 2013 Subaru outback with factory installed rack already in place? more of a flat crossbar Would it be wise or ok to use 2 for easier loading without reaching across for a second kayak? Also would this also be true for a 2016 Honda CRV? Would be using one or the other as transport vehicle.

The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # Y04073 will fit your 2013 Subaru Outback factory bars and is an excellent choice for a carrier. If you use the 2016 Honda CRV, it will also fit as long as the bars are under 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-11/16 inches tall. The crossbars must also be 24 inches apart.

For easiest loading and best support, two of these carriers will be ideal for either vehicle. I recommend the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 4) # Y07204 to secure both carriers.
