How to Identify Which Wire is the Cold Side of the Stop Light Switch on a 2010 Audi Q5
Question:
I have a 2010 Audi Q5 there are three wires on my car brake red pink and brown the red is hot as far as I can tell so I think it has to be the pink or brown?

When installing a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 on your 2010 Audi Q5 you are correct that you do not want to connect the Red wire to the hot side of the brake light switch.
You can find out if the pink or brown wire is the cold side of the stop light switch using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 and testing to see which one gets hot only when the brake pedal is pressed.
