Adding Electric Brakes to a Mastertow 80THD Tow Dolly
Question:
What complete list of items are required to add electric brakes to a Mastertow 80THD tow dolly? I already use it without brakes to tow a Honda CR-V behind our Tiffin 36LA motor coach but I want the added safety and legality of brakes. I have a Prodigy brake controller that I can move from another vehicle and the coach has a seven connector hitch recepticle and connection under the dash for the controller. Thanks

In order to add brakes to a Mastertow 80THD you will need the following items: brake mounting flange, brake assembly, hub and drum assembly, trailer wiring, breakaway kit, and a brake controller.
Brake Mounting Flange: Already Equipped
Brake Assembly: Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA (Self-Adjust)
or
Brake Assembly: Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35 (Manual-Adjust)
Hub & Drum Assembly: Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-K
Trailer Wiring Harness: 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector part # H20044
Breakaway Kit: Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit part # 20099
Brake Controller: Already Purchased
Once purchased, this will give you everything you will need to add brakes to your tow dolly. I have attached a few review and installation videos of the following products for you as well.
