If Brake Controller Works with Emulator but But Does not Show Connection Will It Work
Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 Dodge Durango with tow package, Tekonsha P3 controller and trailer emulator. All emulator lights show correctly when tested including the brakes with activation of the manual slide and delayed activation when at rest and the brakes applied. However, the controller still shows no trailer connected. Is this a short coming of the emulator? I am getting ready to travel to pick up our new camper and want to ensure my controller is functioning properly. Any advice is appreciated.

If your trailer emulator is reading that the controller is working with the brake pedal and the override lever it sounds like everything is fine. Normally an emulator would trick the controller into showing a trailer connection but yours may not be able to put enough of an amperage draw on the controller for it to read the connection.
If the controller is working like you described you would be good though.
