Fender Needed for a tire that is 27 Inches Tall and 12-1/4 Inches Wide
Question:
I am in need of a fender to cover a tire 27 tall and 12.25 wide. Looking at the steel fender with the steel backing. Do you have something, or should I get two and make one wide one?

Expert Reply:
The 16-Gauge Steel, Single-Axle Trailer Fender w/ Backing, item # HP36VR, that you mentioned would be large enough for the 27 inch tall dimension you gave, since most 15 inch tires are just over 27 inches tall, but the width of your tire would require that you get a much wider fender.
We do not have a fender that is 12-1/4 inches wide but you could use the fender you mentioned, cut off the rolled lip on the outside of the fender, and then use a # HP56VR fender without back, cut off the inside lip and have the two welded together at the correct width. You will need to have the fenders welded on the inside lip and outside lip where they are joined if you cannot but weld the two parts together because of the thickness of the steel.
