Platform Bike Rack for Carbon Frame Time Trial Bike

Question:

For my time trial bike, I need a hitch-mounted bike carrier that 1 doesnt hold the bike by the frame, and 2 doesnt require a strap to be cinched down around the rear rim of the bike. Does such a carrier exist? I would prefer a hitch-mounted carrier.

We have almost exactly what you need, but all of the platform bike racks use a strap to secure the rear wheel of the bikes. If you didn't strap the rear wheel down it could potentially bounce off and hit the road. You don't have to really crank the strap down on the wheel though so it would not damage your expensive wheel. We've sold quite a few racks like this and have never had an issue with a customer with the wheel strap.

The nicest bike rack we have for this application is the Kuat NV part # NV22G. This is basically the nicest bike rack money can buy. It's a favorite among the carbon frame bike crowd. It attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well.
