Can Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit Work in Aluminum Boat Trailer with Galvanized Steel Tongue
Question:
I have an EZ Loader aluminum trailer ALB 18-20/22 where the full tongue from the frame to the hitch is galvanized steel. Can I use the Fulton folding hinge kit on the steel tongue even though the rest of the trailer is aluminum?

I spoke with my contact at Fulton regarding the Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit # FHDPB330301 referenced in your question. He stated that as long as the tongue on your aluminum trailer is indeed constructed of solid, galvanized steel, you can use this hinge kit without issue.
This will be a bolt-on installation and is designed for 3 inch x 3 inch trailer tongues. I have attached the complete installation details along with a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.
