As you consider different weight distribution options, "bigger" or "stiffer' is not necessarily better. To get an effective weight distribution (W/D) system, you need to find out the tongue weight when loaded and ready to tow. This weight also needs to include anything loaded behind the rear axle of the towing vehicle. Ideally, the best W/D for you will have this amount land in the middle of its rated tongue weight.
Based on the information you provided, I would recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37120ET because it meets your needs and gives you some "fudge" room. It is designed for maximum gross towing weight of 12,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 800-1,200 lbs. It has an Integrated 4-point weight control system that provides sway control to minimize the trailers' movement. With the exception of one part (1-7/8" socket for Installation of Hitch Ball part # ALL643216), all the hardware is included . It has an easy set up and is very reliable. Part # EQ37120ET also comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
