Difference Between Amount of Leafs in Slipper Spring Packs for Trailer Suspension

Question:

Hello, I am building a trailer and will be equipping it with 2000 pound rated slipper Springs. My question is are there characteristic differences in lengths and or quantity of leaves in the springs available?

Some people prefer spring packs with greater amounts of leaves as that in the unlikely event one of them break there are several others to back it up. But the thinner the leaves (to create a multi-leaf spring pack) the more likely one would be to break.

The other thing to consider is that a thicker spring pack would raise the trailer up a bit if the spring was mount above the axle.

For a 2,000 lb axle we only have one slipper spring available as part # SP-179275 which has 4 springs.
