Recommended Replacement Tire and Wheels for 1990 Sunbird Corsica 175 Single Axle Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 1990 sunbird corsica 175 with its original single axle trailer. The trailer registration lists 1600lb dry and 2600 lb gross weight.The tires on it now are b78-13 lrc. What would you suggest for a new set of tires and rims.Also do these specs mean the most the boat and supplies can weigh is 1000lbs?

To replace the wheels and tires on your 1990 Sunbird Corsica 175, I recommend the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM31994. These galvanized wheels will not corrode and the tire/wheel combinations are rated for a max load of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi. This is 3220 per axle, so you will obviously be limited by other components because of your 2,600 lb gross vehicle weight rating. This rating is the maximum weight for the boat and supplies.
