Does Front Hitch have to be Removed to Change Oil on a 2016 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
For oil changes does the hitch have to be removed on the 2016 4Runner SR5 Premium like it does on my my 2013 Tundra? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
Draw-Tite front mount receiver # 65074 mounts to the very front of the frame on your 2016 Toyota 4Runner SR5 so it is very unlikely that the hitch would have to be removed to do an oil change. But what I recommend is taking a look at the installation instructions linked below and comparing that to your vehicle to determine if the hitch will block anything related to changing the oil.
Like you said on other Toyota vehicles, specifically the Tacoma and Tundra, the front receivers for those vehicles do block access and what a lot of people have done is cut an access hole in a panel that blocks the filter in order to perform an oil change without taking the hitch off.
But we have not had any reports of that being an issue on the 4Runner.
