I may have a solution for you, however there is not a trailer hitch available that is confirmed to fit your 2012 BMW X1 that does not have the panoramic sunroof. This is simply because the design on this model is different enough under the vehicle that the available trailer hitches will not fit properly.
To transport your bike with your vehicle, I recommend looking at a trunk-mounted rack like the Thule Passage 2 # TH910XT. This is a really nice 2-bike carrier that features cushioned anti-sway cradles to prevent contact between the bikes and with your vehicle. It can be folded down when not in use and it can hold bikes of up to 35 pounds each. I have included a video demonstration on this bike rack that you can check out.
I recommend adding the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533 to secure the carrier to your vehicle and help deter theft.
If you are planning on carrying any children's, woman's or alternative frame bikes, you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have attached a video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
