Fitting a Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box to a 2013 Dodge Journey

Question:

I want to buy a Thule Force XL Rooftop Cargo Box - 17 cu ft - AeroSkin Black Item # TH625. Can I use my factory installed crossbars to mount the box? Do I have to buy any other hardware for installation? Thanks.

The Thule Force XT Rooftop Box, part # TH6358B, will fit factory crossbars that are no larger than 3-1/2 inch wide and 1-11/16 inches tall. I contacted Thule and they confirmed that this should fit your crossbars.

An additional measurement you'll want to take is the distance from the middle of the front crossbar to the nearest part of your hatch when it is open. This will give you the maximum clearance of the roof box to not impact the use of the rear hatch.

For the Thule Force XT, you need at least 51-1/8 inches from the middle of your front crossbar to the nearest point of your open hatch to be able to open your rear hatch when the box is equipped.
