The Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler part FLX4126V will physically fit your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado with the 6.6L Duramax diesel engine as long as you have 20" wide x 10" tall x 3/4" deep of space in front of your radiator/condenser behind your grill.
However, Flex-a-lite does not recommend using one of their coolers with the Allison transmission due to potential loss of pressure. We have confirmed with Derale that the use of their transmission coolers will not create a loss of pressure in the system. Therefore, I recommend going with a Derale cooler as your best option.
The best fixed mount cooler we have will be the largest one you have space available for in front of your radiator/condenser behind your grill. As long as you have 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13504 is my recommendation for a fixed mount cooler.
If you have enough space and airflow to the front of your vehicle, than an electric fan is not needed. However, if airflow and space are limited in front of your radiator/condenser behind your grill then you will want to use a remote mounted cooler. As long as you have 15-3/4" Wide x 11-1/2 " tall x 5" deep of space to mount anywhere on your vehicle then the Derale 16-Pass Electra-Cool Remote Cooler Assembly w/ Fan part # D15800 is what I recommend for a remote mounted transmission cooler.
I recommend purchasing the fan and cooler together and pre-mounted as this will be your best option because you will not need to worry about compatibility and mounting issues. You will only need to add an electric fan to a cooler that is not mounted on the front of the vehicle.I have included a review video of the fixed mount transmission cooler for you as well.
