Recommended psi for Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs on a 2000 Coachman Catalina Towing a Minivan
Question:
I have a 2000 Coachmen, Catalina Class A motor home. I have the Ride Rite Air Helper Springs. I tow a mini van and would like to know how much PSI is recommended when traveling?

Expert Reply:
The Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs from Firestone should always have at least 5 psi in them for a longer lifespan, but besides that it is totally up to the customer and what setting they feel is the best for their setup. You will just need to make sure that you do not overinflate them. We do not have any confirmed fits for the Ride-Rite system on your 2000 Coachman Catalina, but most of the systems that we have for passenger vehicles have a range of 5 psi - 100 psi. If you look in your installation instructions there should be a max psi rating that you can go by.
Since their are numerous variables when towing (how much cargo, where it is placed, how much weight is being towed) there isn't really any specific psi other than what makes your Catalina level and provides a smooth ride.
