Pintle Plate Recommendation to Provide 5 inches of Rise

Question:

Hi, I need a pintle riser that provides a 5-6inch rise. Would any of the shorter plates work or would I need one of the larger riser plates. Would like to use the shortest riser possible as Id like to be able to open my tailgate. Also what hook would you reccomend. Itll be for a military m1101 trailer. Ive read that a larger hook might reduce some of the slop, is that true? Tow vehicle is a lifted 2003 super duty Thank you

Pintle setups are always going to have a bit of movement since the loops are so big and the hook has to have enough play to move around.

In order to get the rise you need though you have to go with one of the 14 hole plates like the part # BWPMHD14004 as the smaller plates won't get you to the 5 to 6 inches of rise you need. Then for a hook the part # C48205 would work well and has a 10k capacity.
