First, with the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP30035, installed in your truck, you will be able to use a gooseneck hitch designed for above the bed rails. We have some options for gooseneck hitches that will fit in the 5th wheel rails. You can use Curt gooseneck plate # 16055, which can have a 3 inch offset when placed in the rails with the short side point towards the rear of the truck.

The 5th wheel trailer hitch installation kit is designed to be bolted on, so I do not recommend welding it into place.
