Reese 5th Wheel Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2004 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab. I have a Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel 18K, part # 30142. I want to use underbody mounting. Your website says that part # RP30061 will work on 2001 - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 6-1/2 Foot Bed, 2500 HD Series. Will it? And do I need to modify anything? Thank you.

Yes, the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit, # RP30061, will fit a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with a 6-1/2 foot bed. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to a video showing installation featuring this kit for you to view.

With a short bed, the M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # RP30921, may not offer the clearance you need to safely make 90 degree turns. For the 6-1/2 foot bed, we recommend # RP30144, which is an Elite Series fifth-wheel hitch with a slider. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
