Recommended Reese 5th Wheel Adapter for Factory Rail Kit On 2017 Ford F-350 for Standard Hitch Use

Sir I currently have a Reese 22K 5th wheel hitch on standard rails in an older truck. I purchase a new 2017 F-350 with the prep package. If I purchase the adapter R-30156 can I still use the same 5th wheel hitch? That seems to simple as no drilling or mounting is involved.

The Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs # RP30156 will work with the Ford Factory Rails that are the 5th wheel prep package. You will be able to use your Reese 22K 5th wheel hitch, however you will be limited to 20K due to the max capacity of the adapter.
If you need the higher capacity, then you'd need to bypass the adapter and get the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Single Jaw - 27,000 lbs # RP30922 or the Curt Q24 # C16545-16017.
You may want to consider the Bargman 5th wheel wiring harness # 50-97-410 to add a second 7-way connection to the bed of your truck for easy access.
