There would not be a way to use the Pro Series PS30855 fifth wheel hitch without the base rails # RP30035 that require you drill into the frame of your 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup.
If drilling into the frame of your truck is a deal breaker, there is one option, the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500-5W and the Custom Underbed Installation Kit # BWGNRK1000-5W.
