Still Experiencing Chucking and Jarring After Installing Trailair Pin Box on New Camper
Question:
Chucking problem. 2015 Ford 350 Diesel long bed dully. 5th wheel has Trailair pin box. This was an option that I paid extra for. Noticed Lippert has a new model that would help with chucking. Is this the better option or maybe a better solution out there? The back and forth motions are causing motion sickness in the cab. Its a 14000 lb trailer.

Lippert did make an upgrade to the Trailair pin box that is on your 5th wheel trailer; it is called the FlexAir. The biggest difference between the Trailair and the FlexAir, like part # LC328492, is that the FlexAir has a pivoting head which greatly reduces chucking and pretty much eliminates any bounce or jarring.
Something else to look at is the actual 5th wheel hitch that you have. If you have something like the Reese # RP30047 which just uses a dual-jaw design to provide excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact to lock your trailer to the 5th wheel hitch and reduce chucking and bounce. The Reese M5 20K # RP30928 is a great option because it has a cushioned head and also uses a single jaw for superior 360 degree jaw-to-king-pin contact.
If you would like to upgrade either your Trailair or your 5th wheel hitch just let me know what you have and I can make a recommendation. Pin box replacements are model specific (like the common 1621) so I will need to know the model.
