To determine which Weight Distribution (WD) system is correct for your setup you will first need to find the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your setup. This includes the Tongue Weight (TW) of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer as well as the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2015 Honda CR-V. Keep in mind that a correctly loaded trailer with have a TW that is 10-15% of its loaded weight. I recommend using the Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale # 5780 to make sure that this is the case. If 150 lbs of TW is what it is when you are ready to go then that is a great TW compared to the 1,400-lb boat trailer.

Once you know your TTW you will want to choose a WD system which has a TW range that your TTW falls in the middle of. The Equal-i-zer WD System # EQ37040ET that you referenced is a great option since it has a range of 100 lbs to 400 lbs.

This system comes with everything that you will need, but it might be easier to install the hitch ball using a thin walled socket like part # ALL643216.

Keep in mind that most boat trailers do have a straight tongue so WD is not compatible unless using the Adapter # RP3280.
