Can a Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02443 be Converted to Work in a 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
I need one anti-rattle lock pin for a1.25inch to 2 inch adaptor to install on my receiver. Then I need a new lock pin that is compatible with the yakima holdup +2 2inch receiver. What would you recommend? Thank you.

The easiest solution would be to replace the Spine Assembly on your Yakima Holdup 2, # Y02443, with Yakima Replacement Spine Assembly, # Y80126. This will give your bike rack a 1-1/4 inch receiver without the use of an adapter (compatible with Class II trailer hitches only).
The problem is that if you use an adapter, the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch is reduced by 50 percent. The bike rack, when loaded, will produce too much torque on the hitch and can damage it or the vehicle. So it would be better to swap out the spine assemblies.
The HoldUp bike racks come with a threaded hitch pin. Part of the job of this pin is to hold the shank of the rack close to the receiver to reduce rattle. They also include an integrated cable lock that goes through the bikes and attaches to the threaded hitch pin to secure both rack and bikes to the hitch.
The replacement hitch pin is # Y8880129, and the Replacement Cable and Lock Assembly is # Y8890202.
