Is Fuse Protection Needed When Installing Opti Brite LED # TLL48FB As Trailer Reverse Light

Question:

I would like to mount two of these lights to my Big Tex 70DM car trailer. I plan on mounting the light to the rear fender support. I have a seven pin trailer connection and I understand I can wire the light to the center pin white to activate when the trailer is in reverse. What else would I need wiring wise besides an inline fuse to complete this connection? I would also like to use the light attached to a switch that would illuminate when the running lights are on. What would I need to do this? Thank you,

You don't even really need a fuse to wire up two of the Opti-Brite LED Work Light # TLL48FB as reverse lights. The draw of these is so small at 1.52 inches you aren't going to have to worry about overdrawing the circuit either.

Just mount the lights where you want them, ground the white wire, and then run like a 14 gauge wire to the black wire of the assembly from the center pin of your 7-way and you'd be good.
